Love the deep water function
Great washer was going to buy a Speed Queen but this had so many pluses on everything, warranty, load size, and more ... and sold by Costco in which I purchased an extra 3 year warranty on top of the 5 year warranty. Works well and am happy with it.

Fantastic "Old School" Washer
We were very happy with our older top loading washer and received many years of good service from it. Our family seems to have the washer going constantly. When it came time to replace, we received an education as to how virtually no machines on the market offered the traditional speed and cleaning ability of our previous model. We found this Maytag Commercial model after researching online and have found it to be the ideal blend of old school features and high quality construction. It offers deep water wash on a number of cycles, the agitator cleans towels and soiled clothes very efficiently, cycling items through the water exactly as our old machine did...and we find average cycle time to be 45 minutes or so. Its rated as not having as high a spin speed as some others, but we found the clothes come out really well without being in a wrinkled tangle. Overall, extremely impressed with the ability of this machine to do its job and power through multiple loads. It also seems much more solidly built than most of the machines you see in the showrooms.

Does a great job!
I bought this recently and only am disappointed in one feature- the water will not run unless the lid is closed and I always rinsed out the plastic cups that I use to pour the soap into the machine from. I also use Sunlight bars to rub on stains under running water so with the water not running I am having to change My habits. Otherwise great machine.

Better Than you Think
Purchased the commercial washer for home use .. now have for two months and am very happy with the machine .. great features, very quiet, and really cleans dirty and stained clothes .. sure the machine was more expensive to purchase than other brands .. but the Matag Commercial washer has lived up to it's billing as the "best" washer in it's class .. highly recommend

Fast and simple
Washer cleans well and much quicker cycle than my old washer. A wash takes about 30 minutes. Also like the simple format without excessive cycle choices.

A Quality Washer that works!
The Maytag Commercial Top Load washer effectively washes all the clothes an active family can generate. This quality constructed washer is rarity in that it is designed to provide adequate wash tub water levels to provide excellent agitation and movement of clothes to get them clean. Manufactured with robust case and controls that should provide years of trouble free washing operation.

Rocky Start
I bought this a month ago and we had a rocky start. I was excited to get the washer that took, I believe 3 months to get. But when it came, it did not work. Thankfully Maytag staff got me an appointment earlier than the 2 weeks I was told, but they sent the tech to the wrong address. BUT eventually I did get a tech and I did get the repair of a Manufacturing error. In all honesty I am sitting on pins and needles hoping that the defect did not cause any permanent damage and that my washer will perform as advertised. I will recommend this product to family and friends; however, I will have to tell them of the problems I faced.

Almost Perfect
Love most things about this machine, especially having a full tub of water when needed. Could only be made better by being able to fully adjust the water level, instead of just full and half full. And also, you should have a half-tub fill for delicates, most of the time there isn't enough items in the machine to warrant a full tub of water. Oh and also, when you use presoak, it shouldn't make the Normal mode use a full tub and change from the spray rinse to a full tub rinse. Sounds like a lot of complaining but we actually love the machine, would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Seems to work well BUT....see review....
So far we like the machine but we have had to stop using it fo the last couple of weeks while we get an appraisal on a leak it has caused in the drain pipe. We have to open the wall in the basement to examine the drain pipe to find where it’s leaking and repair it (suspect opened joint or burst pipe from the increased pressure from the machine or handling by installers). Whatever it is - when we use the machine, water seeps out from under the wall and of course the insulation soaks the water up into the wall. Adjuster says they won’t be able to match the tile or wallpaper that covers the bathroom walls but they can do two walls to coordinate with the tile and walls on the other walls and shower.

What Happened to the Old Fashion Washers???
I'm glad I bought this washer...it washes, rinses and spins well but still it's not as good as my old Maytag in terms of quality and performance. I was told this is the closest thing to my old Maytag washer. However the older Maytag provided the users with more control over their laundry cycles, performance and quality and it didn't break down once. Maytag bring back the old fashion washers with the same level of quality! We don't need all the digital, automated and electronic features. Simple is better!

Leaves soap ring.
I bought this washer a couple of months ago. I am happy with it except for the soap residue that it always leaves behind on the tub. I use only 1 tsp. Of detergent. I wonder if my clothes are really getting clean.

Good workhorse - poor fit and finish
We bought this washer about a week ago because our previous 22 year old Maytag washer died. We wanted a good workhorse for our house with teenagers. Liked the simplicity and commercial grade of this machine. Has all the basic features that a family needs, plus all dials are analog style - so less likely to break down. My disappointment was in the build quality fit and finish. Despite there being no damage on the box, once opened I found a dented back piece at a screw hole, the front panel does not align properly and the display panel with the dials is loose. Looks like this all passed through quality control at the factory. Not what was expected for $1500. Hopefully it runs and lasts better than first impressions. Glad it has such a long warranty.

The new Maytag washer
should of had a water level feature to balance the size of load. The spin cycle for heavy loads and comforters when finished are still soaking at the end of cycle. I have to add extra spin cycle. I had a MagTag washer commercial-grade 13 years old was quieter better spin dry.I believe the new MayTag washer is built to last just needs a couple of changes.

Works well so far but top portion started rusting
Works well so far but the unit is 19 months old, and corrosion is starting and paint is peeling off on the washer. You can see in the picture that the paint is peeling from a portion of the metal without any rust. This point to poor surface preparation before painting. I am frankly disappointed.

Not great especially for a “commercial” washer
Plastic hub ring that engages the agitator stripped less than a year after purchase. 6 months later a new grinding sound coming from the transmission.
I had high expectations for this washer considering it’s title and price. I would not recommend purchasing.

Less than 2 years old and agitator is not working
I bought this machine as we have 2 special needs kids and washing occurs every day. We spent the extra money for a good reliable machine. Not the case. Waiting for a part for a month so far. COVID makes it that much more difficult to go out and do laundry. So frustrated.

Not the old school machine like I thought
I bought this machine about a month ago and am not happy with it, i wanted something that used more wayer then the new he machines. This definitely does that, on the normal cycle it uses half a tub full to wash but on the rinse its just a spray rinse. If you use the add an extra rinse option then it does a full tub fill on wash and rinse. The agitation on the wash cycle only lasts 5 minutes so not enough time to get much clean. It also doesn't mix the water when adding. I had it on cold wash and after it filled for a bit I opened the lid to put an article of clothing in and i shoved it down into the water and burnt my hand.
I spent hours researching machines and this one looked like the best option, but after the first day with it I absolutely hated it. Wasn't worth the $1400 I spent on it. Which leads me to another agonizing feat of trying to submit for the 30 day maytag guarentee. The machine has finally been picked up, but tying to get a hold of anyone from the customer care team to let them know its been picked up so they can release my cheque has been non existent
They don't answer there phones and do not return calls like there machine say.

Great washer, poor warranty services
Bought this machine near a yr ago, on may 2018. The washer works great and the agitator does a god job. The major issue with this machine is that the basket get easilly unbalanced, even with all the precaution to place the laundry correctly. The washer is slow to react to the unbalanced basket and the basket can bounce several times befores the washer stop and try to spin again.
This week I've noticed that one side of the front panel was a little bit slack on the left side near the top panel. with my flashtlight, I've looked in the little gap between the front and the top panel. I've noticed that it seem to miss one clip retaining the front panel attached to the top panel on the left side.
So for the first time, I called the warranty service. First, after giving all the serial and the model number to the representative, she told me that my washer has a 1 yr part and label warranty!! I said no, it's the commercial one, it a 5 yrs warranty look again! She said on a bad tone that she had the photo of my model and the warranty in front of her and that the washer is only a 1 yr warranty. Even if I was in my 1 yr since my purchase, I have continu to tell her that she was wrong. Then she told me to wait on the line. After 3 or so minutes, she came back saying sorry, I was right it's a 5 yr warranty.
After she told me to explain the issue. So I tell her that the front panel is a little bit slack on the top left side and it seem to have a missing or broken clip. I tell her that is could be due by the bouncing basket in the front panel when the basket is unbalanced. She begun right away to tell me that if the basket is unbalanced, is all and only my fault because the washer have no problem!! WOW!! What a answer! Then she was telling me that if the clip was broke by the unbalanced basket, the warranty is not good and it's all my responsability, and that I have overfulled the basket! She spoke to me like a was a child, this is unnaceptable! I said that I've supposed that the broken clip was due to the unbalanced basket but is not a certitude! I'm not sittting in front on my washer to look what may cause something!
So after all this discussion she finaly tell me that a technicien will come to see the issue.
So for now I only give 2 stars because of the poor warranty service. I will reconsider after the technicien visit if the problem is fixed. Without that the fact the washer is easilly unbalanced, it would be a 4 stars.
Note that I am a french canadian and I wrote this review in english so more people could read this. I apologize for the grammar!

Top panel of the washer rusting
This washer is 18months old and the top pannel is rusting and paint is peeling. You can feel from the other side that the rust is going thru. Very sad for a washer of this price. Where the paint is peeling you can see that there is no rust underneath, the paint is just not adhering to the surface, this is a manufacturing defect. Look at the direct competitor of this washer, it offers a 5 years warranty.

Do not buy
Our washer worked great the first 2 years then it failed.. Maytag has no repair people north of Muskoka and leaves the repair up to you. Ordered and paid for part to repair myself only to receive a poorly made part that I cannot use. Buyer beware! Poor quality machine and poor quality parts direct from Maytag/whirlpool.

Washes great, durability stinks
Awesome machine for the first year then the plastic drive hub (part# W10396887) stripped it's splines. After waiting a month and with some persistence the repairs were made under warranty. Now four months later the same part has failed again. Some quick research shows this to be a common failure item on machines using this part.
Gee whiz Maytag / Whirlpool the warranty claims on this item alone must be costing you a fortune not to mention what it does to the reputation of your "premium" commercial grade brand. You can, and need to do better.

Expensive paperweight
I bought this Washer (and matching dryer) in July. It did not work when it was delivered, a service call was made and the problem was the agitator was not connected internally. It then worked for two months and then sporadically would not turn on. I've been waiting over six weeks for Maytag to fix this under warranty but they claim the parts aren't available. Almost $2k for a washer that I haven't been able to use for over half the time I've owned it. I'd advise you to look elsewhere and buy with a manufacturer that can support their under warranty products properly.
